When is the rainy season in Salar de Uyuni?

The rainy season in the Salar de Uyuni kicks in around December and keeps going until April, while January and February bring the strongest showers.

This is also the only period when you can catch that well-known mirror effect. Still, strong storms can push water deep across the flats, so some spots like Incahuasi Island may be hard to reach for a little while. If your main aim is photography, this window is the one to choose, just know you might need a few small itinerary adjustments because of the weather.
