What is the best month to see the mirror effect in Uyuni?

The months when you see the mirror-like effect in Salar de Uyuni work best from January until April, because that is when the region gets its rainy season. During this period, a very thin layer of water lies over the salt flats, and the sky comes back in a clean reflection, like a quiet, bright glass.

Even though you need rainfall to build that huge natural mirror, going between late February and March often gives the best balance. In that stretch, there is usually enough surface water for striking photos, but not so much precipitation that the tours are cancelled or that getting into deeper sections of the flats becomes a problem.
