Is Honfleur pedestrian-friendly?

Honfleur feels made for walkers. The busiest spots sit close to the Vieux Bassin, the Old Inner Harbour, and the ground is mostly level. In many areas, cars are limited, so the historic core is meant for people on foot.

The streets follow an old plan from long before cars. That is why walking is the quickest option for getting around. You will find the harbour area and the main shopping streets fairly flat. Still, the centre has uneven cobblestones, so wear solid shoes with flat soles.

If you go up towards the Notre-Dame de Grâce chapel, expect a steep climb. It is tough, but doable on foot.
