Can I try Uzbek food at Chorsu Bazaar?

Chorsu Bazaar in Tashkent is one of the best spots in Uzbekistan to try authentic street food, freshly made in the moment. The big open-air dining pavilion kind of feels lively all the time, and it offers many traditional dishes for prices that stay very reasonable.

People really head to the separate food area, which many locals call the “glutton’s row” with a wink. There, huge cauldrons simmer Tashkent-style plov, and the vendors are grilling skewers of lamb and beef shashlik over hot coals. You can also grab freshly baked non directly from the tandir ovens, plus sample regional favourites like kazy (the horse-meat sausage), or those piping-hot samsas that come straight out to the street.
