Is Giverny open in the winter?

No. The Claude Monet Foundation in Giverny, with both his home and the well-known gardens, stays shut in winter. Each year it closes from 1 November and usually does not reopen until late March.

Most visitors come for the bright flower scenes in the water garden and the Clos Normand. In winter, the weather makes everything quiet, and the site looks much less impressive. You can still reach the village. Still, most visitor services, like places to eat and small shops, close up until spring when it opens again.
