Is Le Marais safe at night?
Le Marais is often seen as one of the calmer areas in central Paris after dark. People stay out late, and the streets feel lively. Shops and lights are busy for much of the night.
There are many places to eat, plus bars and cultural spots. That means you see crowds most evenings. When the pavements are full, street crime is less likely to happen. Still, it is Paris, and it is a big city. Travellers should watch what is going on around them. Keep an eye out for pickpockets, especially in packed bars or around entrances to the Metro.
