Can tourists ride camels near Aydarkul Lake?

Tourists can arrange to ride Bactrian camels (the two-humped ones) in those desert regions around Aydarkul Lake pretty easily. Most yurt camps operating near the lake offer camel trekking as one of the main attractions for visitors; it is usually right there in the daily schedule.

A camel ride gives an authentic look at the nomadic way of life lived by the Silk Road traders who once crossed the Kyzylkum Desert. The trips commonly run from about 20 minutes up to a few hours, and they move riders through dry scrublands, then over gentle dunes, usually only a handful of kilometres from the lake border. Riding a Bactrian camel is generally comfortable because the natural dip between the humps becomes a kind of stable seat for the person up top.
