How to visit Coroico from La Paz?

If you want to go to Coroico from La Paz, you can jump on a shared minibus, actually a small minivan, from the Villa Fátima terminal. The trip usually takes around two or three hours, and it follows the new paved highway. Another option is for people to reach Coroico by mountain biking, meaning you go down the well-known “Death Road”, also called Camino de la Muerte.

When using public transport, the minivans leave quite often during the day, usually after they are full. If you prefer the pedal route, most tour operators arrange a ride to the start near the La Cumbre Pass. They will guide you through the adrenaline descent, and then you end up close to Coroico. From there, you can stay overnight or take the included shuttle back to La Paz.
