How many days to spend in Copacabana, Bolivia?

Two to three days is the ideal amount of time to stay around Copacabana, so you can really absorb the town and Lake Titicaca without feeling hurried. This window also makes room for an overnight trip to Isla del Sol, plus time to wander the local highlights at a calmer pace.

  • Day 1: You arrive, hike up Cerro Calvario for those wide panoramic sunset sights, then go to the Basilica.
  • Day 2: Catch a boat over to Isla del Sol, walk along the old trails, and remain for the night on the island.
  • Day 3: Come back to the mainland, then get ready for the next stage of travel towards La Paz or Puno.
