How to cross the border from Bolivia to Peru via Copacabana?

Going across from Copacabana toward Peru usually means about a 15-minute drive to the Kasani border checkpoint. At the checkpoint, you first have to leave Bolivia by getting a passport stamp, then you walk over the border a short distance to reach the Peruvian immigration office where your entry stamp is issued.

For an easier crossing, make sure your visas are already arranged in advance if your nationality requires them. Also, keep your Bolivian entry slip secure since you will need to surrender it when you exit. It helps a lot to bring small amounts of cash, namely Bolivianos and Soles, so you can exchange money or cover minor local municipal fees if they are asked for. In general, the whole procedure takes around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on how full the bus queues are.
