Where is Incahuasi Cactus Island located?

Incahuasi Island sits right smack in the middle of the Salar de Uyuni salt flat, in southwestern Bolivia, and it feels kind of like an odd little place, because it is an isolated hilly outcrop with giant cacti all over it, and it is surrounded entirely by that glaring white salt crust.

Now this “island” is not really an island, more like the upper part of an ancient volcano that ended up under a huge prehistoric lake. Nowadays, people stop there often; it’s a usual rest point for tours, plus there is a short walking route up to the summit. Up top, you can see a breathtaking full 360-degree panoramic view over the seemingly endless salt plains.
