Is Bois de Boulogne safe at night?

People often say the Bois de Boulogne is not a safe place to walk around at night. After dark, some parts of the park can turn into spots for crime. One issue that people mention is open-air prostitution in certain areas.

By day, the park can feel like a fun spot for families. The mood changes after sunset. Police and other officials urge walkers to stay away from dark paths and the deeper parts of the woods. If you plan to go to an evening event at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, or to a restaurant inside the park area, it is better to take a taxi or a ride-share. Use it to get to your stop and then back out, instead of walking.
