How long to spend at Sword Beach?

You usually spend about one to two hours at Sword Beach. Most of what people come for sits around Ouistreham, so getting around feels easier than in the larger American areas.

You can glance at the shore in a short time. The story is clearer in the sites nearby and in the built remains. The Atlantic Wall Museum, also called The Grand Bunker, is a key stop, as is the No. 4 Commando Museum. If you plan to go into both museums and then walk the edge of the landing areas to see how the British pushed forward, set aside a full two hours. That gives you time to move without rushing.
